Hometown: Reston, Virginia
College: Grove City College
Degree: B.S. Marketing Management
A D.C. area native, Sarah Stites graduated summa cum laude from Grove City College with a degree in marketing and psychology. Studying in Northern Ireland for her junior year developed in Sarah a passion for globetrotting and connecting with locals in the countries she visits.
As an avid wanderer and wordsmith, Sarah travels and writes whenever possible. She aspires to combine her two loves through a career as a communications officer in the Foreign Service, focusing especially on international religious freedom. Sarah became passionate about defending first amendment freedoms when she was able to shape policy through her first hand experience of being represented by Alliance Defending Freedom in a religious liberty case.
Sarah worked as a writer and research analyst for the Media Research Center, where she reported on several issues, including religious freedom and Christian persecution. Prior to MRC, she interned at Federal Management Partners and the U.S. Department of Justice.
While at the John Jay Institute, Sarah desires to gain a better understanding of the Christian’s role in engaging culture thoughtfully and effectively. She is also expecting to gain a solid foundation in our nation’s founding principles and to explore her calling while living in intentional Christian community.
