Spring 2020 John Jay Fellow

Hometown: Venice, FL
College: Brown University
Degree: A.B. in Economics

Isaac graduated from Brown University in the fall of 2018 with a degree in Economics. During his four years there, he competed as a wide receiver for the school’s Division I football program. His senior year, he earned the Broomhead Memorial Trophy, the award given to the player who best represents the team and university on and off the field. Outside of athletics, Isaac participated in and helped lead Brown’s Christian Union and Athletes in Action chapters.

Beyond college, Isaac has interests and experience in a number of fields. He has applied his love for economics in the private and non-profit sectors. During the summer of 2018 he interned at Tudor, Pickering, Holt and co., a Houston-based investment bank. This past fall, he spent time with the Rhode Island Center for Freedom and Prosperity, the Ocean State’s lone free market think tank, where he served as a state budget researcher and contributor to the center’s blog.

Ultimately, Isaac’s greatest strength and enjoyment is in teaching. In addition to a brief stint as a member of Brown Football’s coaching staff, he spent a year and a half as a ministry assistant for the university’s Athletes in Action where he helped lead the men’s ministry, served as a recurring guest speaker, and facilitated an apologetics seminar.

Isaac plans to pursue a career in teaching, hopefully in the field of economics. Regardless of what comes next, he is thrilled about the Fellows Program and becoming better equipped to apply a Biblical worldview in everything he does.
