J.D. Rimann graduated summa cum laude and Order of the Coif from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he was a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar. While at SMU Law he served as an Executive Editor for the Texas Review of Law & Politics, an Articles Editor for the SMU Law Review, Executive Vice President of the SMU Federalist Society, a member of the Jackson Walker Moot Court Board, Phi Delta Phi Magister, and as a Blackstone Fellow.
Additionally, he participated in ROTC and was a SMP cadet with the Texas Army National Guard. He has commissioned into the Oklahoma Army National Guard, where he will serve as a military intelligence officer in the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. Prior to law school, J.D. worked as Legislative Director in the Texas Legislature, a campaign manager on several Texas political races, and as a Policy Analyst at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
J.D. attended the University of Southern Mississippi as an undergraduate, where he met his wife Courtney and graduated summa cum laude with a triple-major and triple-minor. Before attending Southern Miss, J.D. spent over a year in Sierra Leone, Togo, and the Republic of the Congo as a volunteer with Mercy Ships.
In his free time J.D. enjoys running, writing poetry (especially for his wife!), and reading business histories and historical fiction. After the bar he will join the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
