Jonathan Chang graduated in 2021 from the University of Washington, receiving a degree in International Studies with a concentration in foreign policy. For his capstone project, he served as the student coordinator for the Donald C. Hellmann Task Force report on Japan’s position in great power competition between the United States and China. Jonathan received his commission from Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 910 and will attend pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.
At Detachment 910, Jonathan served in multiple leadership positions within the cadet wing as a squadron commander, a Field Training Preparation trainer, inspector general, and wing executive officer. He was also active in the Arnold Air Society Douglas Matheson Squadron, serving as the Financial Management Officer, Director of Training, and Vice Commander.
During Jonathan’s time at the John Jay Institute, he hopes to further his understanding of faith and service. Moreover, he hopes to strengthen his Christian worldview to improve his skills in ministry and disciple-making.
