Paul Schroeder graduated from George Fox University in May 2020, summa cum laude with a degree in History and Politics and was a member of the William Penn Honors Program. Additionally, Paul was awarded the 2020 Outstanding Senior in Politics.
At George Fox, Paul was president of the local Intercollegiate Studies Institute chapter and worked with the Institute for Humane Studies to assemble a conference in the Fall of 2017. Paul served the university as a Peer Advisor for incoming freshmen, as well as a liaison for an intentional living community on campus. He was an intern for the William Penn Honors program, working with faculty to help with admissions and the functioning of program activities.
Paul worked as a research and teaching assistant for the History Department, culminating in the co-authorship of a book on South African history. He received a Richter Scholars’ research grant to pursue research in this field and presented on South African history at a conference in Iowa.
Outside of college, Paul served as an intern for Oregon Right to Life, working for the PAC office on a variety of projects to support the community and the state of Oregon. These included analyses of local voting patterns, as well as research on Right to Life issues. Paul was also a guide and archivist at the Hoover-Minthorn House Museum in Newberg, Oregon.
In his spare time Paul enjoys hiking, woodworking, cooking, and playing guitar. Beyond John Jay, Paul plans to pursue his masters in International Relations, looking forward to a career in the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer.
