Samuel Scott graduated magna cum laude from Seattle Pacific University in June 2020. As a member of the University Scholars Honors program, his research focused on the impact of global trade on community in America, specifically how it influences the strength of religious institutions. In the fall of 2019, Sam spent a semester studying political theory and early modern philosophy at the University of Oxford through Scholarship and Christianity in Oxford.
While at SPU, Sam was involved with the American Enterprise Institute Executive Council for three years and served as its president for two years. He also led the Intercollegiate Studies Institute Society for two years, was a member of the SPU Centurions men’s service group, and helped start a Christian apologetics club. He also participated in the Charles Koch Institute. He played Clarinet and Piano in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and competed on SPU’s NPDA Parliamentary debate team. He is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
Sam has worked in both the public and private sector. He was a sales operations and marketing intern for over a year and a half at Sabey Data Centers, where he helped rebuild their internal reporting mechanisms, assisted in designing marketing campaigns, and learned about world of technology infrastructure. He has also interned for the Snohomish County Superior Court as a Social Work and Family Law Intern.
Sam enjoys playing piano, listening to rock music, hiking, and board gaming. After John Jay, he plans to pursue a career in public administration.
