College: United States Naval Academy

Major:  B.S. Oceanography

Tasha is a 2016 honors graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where she commissioned into the United States Navy at a Surface Warfare Officer Oceanography Option. Talbot earned a B.S. in honors oceanography and received the Hendrix award for being the overall top oceanographer for the class of 2016.

During her time along the Severn River, she was a member of the Superintendent’s List every semester in addition to leading in the Navigators ministry on campus for 2 years as the women’s ministry leader. In addition, she tutored children in the community every other week, and competed nationally with the epee blade earning a national title in fencing in 2014. Other opportunities and trainings during the summer allowed her to serve for a month in Uganda with the Navigators and work with the Navy’s dolphins and sea lions. After the Saratoga Fellows program, she will deploy to Japan and will be able to integrate her faith with her profession. Talbot will serve as a Meteorology and Oceanography officer in the United States Navy and eventually hopes to work in ocean exploration and policy making as a Christian steward of our planet.
