Dylan Mayne graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in April 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Spanish Language & Literature and a minor in Religious Studies. He focused the majority of his studies on the varying degrees in which language, religion, and traditionalism factor into American and International jurisprudence.
While at MSU, Dylan was an active member in the university’s instrument ensembles, participating in the Famous Maroon Marching Band, the university concert bands, and basketball pep bands. In addition, Dylan was invited to join the Montgomery Leadership Fellows where he participated in three semesters of community service with different organizations in Starkville, MS. Dylan graduated from the fellowship following the implementation of the Mississippi Civic Engagement Project (MCEP), a free program of videos intended to foster Political Education and Civic engagement within the state of Mississippi. In addition to these organizations, he was an ambassador for MSU’s Language Department, a member of the Pre-Law society, Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Sigma Alpha, Sigma Delta Pi, and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies at the university.
Outside of school, Dylan participated in an internship with the now-governor, Tate Reeves, during the 2019 Mississippi Gubernatorial race as well as holding internships in Congressman Steven Palazzo’s Mississippi District and D.C. offices during the summers of 2020 and 2021.
Following the John Jay Program, Dylan hopes to pursue a Juris Doctorate with a focus on Immigration and/or International Business. Dylan hopes to continue his community involvement in Mississippi and wishes to change some of the societal stigmas associated with the state. His ultimate professional goal is to one day hold a federal judgeship.
