Savannah Anne Carman is a native of North Carolina where she grew up with her family of six siblings. She took a gap year at Impact 360 in GA to study worldview, culture, and business training through Chick-fil-A corporate. The program also included intercultural studies accompanied by a trip to Brazil. Savannah Anne earned her B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from The King’s College in New York City. During her time at King’s, Savannah Anne traveled to China for international and cultural studies with students at the University of Beijing. The following year, Savannah Anne spent the summer term studying the Philosophy of Human Nature in Oxford at New College. Besides academics, Savannah Anne experienced a culture shock around the dinner table and started a student organization, Dele (day-la), that facilitated and encouraged hospitality. She completed her senior thesis project with Princeton Fellow Dr. David Tubbs on the topic of shared income policy promoted by Susan Moller Okin.

After graduating, Savannah Anne interned with the Acton Institute in the development department and on a blog project about the story of Annette Kirk and the Russell Kirk Center. She went on to study church history and theology with the Brazos Fellows in TX. For her tutorial she focused on the telos of human nature and how that should inform the ethics of technology. This past year, she worked as the Education Coordinator at Care Net Pregnancy Center in TX.

Since her time at the pregnancy center, Savannah Anne has developed a special interest in women’s health and education reform. She hopes to fill this gap, whether through partnering or developing an organization, to address this need. In the meantime, she looks forward to embodying habits of the good life—in mind, body, and spirit—with her fellow fellows this fall.
