Eleanor Jenkins began her college career in Kniebis-Freudenstadt, Germany, on a study abroad trip at the European Theological Seminary there. Due to the ministerial emphasis the seminary focused on, she spent much of her time training in outreach and service. During this year, she devoted the majority of her time to pursuing fascinating and life changing things like cultural investigation, learning the basics to being a foodie, and glossolalia.
Eleanor began her sophomore year at Lee University as a Classics and Theology double major later adding a philosophy minor. She was a part of a theological leadership house with weekly events focusing on prayer and discussion, later joining a mentoring group created by Lee’s School of Religion as a mentor. She was a teaching assistant for multiple professors, was a student worker for the Assistant Director at the Financial Aid Office on campus, attended many symposiums with Lee’s Political Science Department, and won Best Humanities Paper Award at Lee’s Sims Colloquium. She was the recipient of the Departmental Award for Theology as well as the Dean’s List Honor for high-achieving students.
Eleanor Jenkins has always loved thinking and reading, whether that is philosophical, strategic, or fantastical, and she earnestly wants to continue doing that however possible. She also loves being athletic (with only moderate success) and playing any kind of game. Eleanor hopes to investigate diplomacy in some way, adding to her language collection (currently Latin, Attic Greek, and German) and getting to see more of the world, while also making a positive or progressive impact with the work that she does.
