College: Palm Beach Atlantic University
Degree: B.A. in History, Minor in Politics
Nicholas Jeffrey Stanton of Parkland, Florida, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a B.A. in History and a minor in Politics. He especially valued and enjoyed his classes in political theory where, in his senior year, he crafted a research paper on F.A. Hayek’s critique of Constructivist Rationalism. He is a member of the National History Honor Society, as well as the National Political Science Honor Society. He is also a graduate of the Frederick M. Supper Honors Program at PBA.
During his undergraduate studies, Nicholas served for two years as a Presidential Ambassador for PBA; a distinguished honor given to only 40 undergraduate students. In addition, he helped mentor incoming freshmen to PBA as a First Year Coach. Nicholas also was instrumental in establishing the Intercollegiate Studies Institute chapter on campus: “The Freedom Forum.” As chapter president, he handled administration, as well as coordinating and overseeing chapter meetings as moderator. These meetings were dedicated to open and civil discussion on topics such as artificial intelligence, toleration, and foreign policy. Finally, Nicholas’s discussion skills were greatly enhanced through his participation in an academic roundtable surrounding the discussion of “What is the Common Good?”
In his personal life, Nicholas loves spending time with his family and friends, as well as playing in his church’s handbell choir. He also enjoys running and repairing, building, and selling model trains and railroad equipment. During his time at John Jay, Nicholas hopes to discern the Lord’s plan for his future education; whether that be graduate school or law school. He also hopes to turn one of his other passions, real estate, into a career as either becoming a real estate agent or a real estate investor on the private or corporate level.
