Wesley Jones hails from Carol Stream, Illinois, where he attended Wheaton Academy. The positive experience with Christian community there spurred him towards Taylor University, from which he graduated in May 2023 with a B.A. in History and the minor associated with the Taylor University Honors Guild.
Wesley’s manifold experiences there include both his time as an RA during the 2021-2022 school year and fronting the band Bro-Sis Mitosis. These, and more, are included in his self-published book Cringe Moments: A Life Lived to the Full, a subtle parody of a similarly-titled book by the current president of Taylor University. Cringe Moments has currently sold in excess of 300 copies. Wesley also performed for all four years on Taylor University’s fully-independent student-run improvisational comedy team, Rice Pilaf, and served as its captain his senior year.
Some of Wesley’s interests include philosophy, music, international relations, video games, and storytelling. These all intersect in a passion for thinking critically—and Christianly—about video games. Stories in every medium reflect the great story of Christ’s sacrifice and humanity’s redemption, and even an often-overlooked medium like video games carries important themes capable of influencing culture and worthy of consideration.
