Barthelemy Bikoi completed his undergraduate studies in Cameroon. His desire to understand principles of good leadership and the causes of poverty led him to pursue a MS in Leadership from Boston College and a MS in Economics from Baylor University. While at Baylor, he was interested in Economics of Networks. His graduate school thesis intersected concepts in Economics, Mathematics, and Linguistics to examine the influence of Linguistic Proximity on services exports.
He was awarded the Graduate Business Scholarship and the Economics Excellence Fund by The Graduate School and Baylor Economics Department, respectively. Upon graduating from Baylor, he joined the World Bank Group’s Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC) as a Robert S. McNamara Fellow, for quantitative research on Agriculture and Food Policy, focusing on Bangladesh. At DEC, he used Impact Identification Strategies to measure the causal effects of the Integrated Agriculture and Productivity Project on small scale farmers in Bangladesh.
After his time at the John Jay Institute’s Fellows Program, he hopes to continue to pursue graduate studies in the field of Economics. During his free time, he likes biking.
