Nancy O’Gara
Fall 2024 John Jay Fellow
Hometown: Washington, D.C.
College: William & Mary
Degree: B.A. in Government and English
Nancy O’Gara recently graduated cum laude from the College of William and Mary with a degree in English and Government. At William and Mary, she was involved with Catholic Campus Ministries, the history club, and the Williamsburg Habitat for Humanity Restore. She particularly enjoyed coursework on modern American literature and constitutional law.
During college, she worked for Hudson Institute Political Studies, a summer fellowship in Washington, DC which provides undergraduates an opportunity to study the intersection of political theory and policy.
Nancy also spent a summer in Sarajevo, Bosnia, teaching fourth-graders and researching education and religion in the post-war society. This summer, Nancy interned for a Judge on the D.C. Superior Court. After her time at the John Jay Institute, she plans to apply to law school and pursue a career in public service.
Nancy is thrilled to be a John Jay Fellow, and she is particularly eager to study the American founding and live in Christian community.
In her free time, Nancy enjoys trying new recipes, reading in her hammock, and playing with her dog, Bonkers.
